私たちアメリカ・フレンド奉仕委員会（AFSC）は９月11日の事件に関し「これ以上の犠牲者を出すな」というキャンペーンを行います。このキャンペーンの一環として AFSCは10月７日にアメリカの６大新聞に意見広告を出します。これに賛同、署名される個人、団体を募集します。本文は下記の通りです。ブッシュ大統領宛てに戦争という手段に訴えないように要求します。
この広告の目的は世界中の平和を求める人と連携し、新聞にできるだけいろんな場所、国の人の名前でいっぱいにすることです。この手紙を受け取った皆様、署名をしてくださるようお願いします。

Our organization, the American Friends Service Committee, launched a public campaign in response to the events of September 11 entitled "No More Victims." As part of this effort, AFSC has developed an ad for placement on October 7 in six large US newspapers. We are inviting individuals and organizations to sign on. The text is attached. It is addressed to President Bush and calls on him not to go to war.

The idea is to connect with people around the world who believe in pursuing peace and fill the newspaper page with as many names from as many places as possible. We invite all recipients to sign on to this petition. You can either respond to this e-mail directly by sending your personal and/organizational name to us at: eaqiar@aol.com or else can sign up directly at: www.afsc.org.

The copy of the advertisement is attached here as a pdf file, and the complete text is also listed below. The final date for signing on to this petition is October 6.
